Jodi brought some of her family along to run our table top, meet with these incredible philanthropists and entrepreneurs, and learn more about the issues and how we are tackling them together to make lasting change across the planet. We are so proud to get to know so many amazing people spreading goodness and empowering change around the globe.
As you can imagine, an event like this is full of teary moments and calls to action. The family came back inspired and activated. In case you didn’t know, we are proud to donate 1% of the annual sales of our Baby Balm and Children’s First Aid salves to World Vision in support of their Mother and Child Health Fund.
Here are a few notes from Jodi as she was traveling:
World Vision has built Strong Women Strong World because research shows that if you can take care of women, who are often the caregivers and providers for the family, then you can have the greatest impact on the entire family's success and their ability to live healthier lives. This effort not only provides clean water and food, but also vitamins and nutrition for breastfeeding mothers so they can feed their newborns. They also provide safe places for children to play and learn and safe places for women to develop economic opportunities, for example making baskets to sell.
Attending this annual event is beyond empowering. First, before the lunch takes place, we have a table top where we sell our Goodness holiday boxes along with multiple women-founded businesses that support World Vision in some capacity and sell products that have a positive impact. We not only enjoy spreading goodness with our plant-based first aid products, but we love doing our holiday shopping with these amazing humans and supporting their impactful companies.
One company, Lovishly, adopted 10 children! As a family that has many adopted children and is multicultural, we are excited to share these lovely gifts with family and friends. Kira, our daughter, operated the table top visiting with many World Vision sponsors which gives our daughter a real interactive opportunity to witness the impact of our products and philanthropic efforts.
Then the amazing four-course lunch began! While eating this delicious and thoughtful lunch, the speakers began sharing their World Vision efforts. The videos they brought made us laugh, cry, and feel the change that is happening. Key sponsors also shared their stories and showed footage from their mission trips. Then the CEO shared his mission trips and overall vision going forward. Wé McDonald sang (Yes, the one from The Voice!) and if you haven't seen her perform, take the time to search her videos—she is a force. By the time the event ended, we had a bag full of impactful holiday gifts, a heart full of gratitude for the incredible meal, and another year’s worth of inspiration from World Vision and their endless efforts to help so many. Most of all, we are personally motivated to do more helping others around the world.

]]>We got a chance to speak with Tina about where this idea came from and why she works so hard every year to Spread Goodness during the holiday season. We were so inspired that we donated Green Goo to go in the stockings too. Thank you to everyone who works with Tina's Stockings For Soldiers for reminding us again how much goodness we can spread together.
Q&A with TINA LOIZZI ("Tina's Stockings For Soldiers")
Name: Tina Loizzi
Hometown: Carpentersville, Illinois
Season Of Goodness: Tina's Stockings For Soldiers
GREEN GOO: Please tell us when and how the idea for Tina's Stockings For Soldiers began?
TINA LOIZZI: My daughter went into the military four years ago (2019), and it was really hard on me. She is my first-born, she was only 18 at the time, so I just kind of came up with the idea, I guess in my depression. Knitting is something I can do and I just thought of knitting Christmas stockings to fill my time, and it kind of evolved from there.
GG: So each of the stockings are knitted or handmade by you specifically?
TL: No. Well, the first year, yes. I sent the first round of stockings to the base my daughter was stationed at, F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, and then it kind of grew bigger. Other people started helping me knit, I have some people who sew stockings. I also work with an organization near me that sells brand new Christmas stockings and they will sometimes donate the ones that are discontinued. So not only do I knit a large number of stockings each year, there is lots of support from other people and organizations locally as well. And each year, the number of stockings I’ve donated to the military has grown too.
GG: That leads to my next question: How many stockings do you donate each year?
TL: The first year, I donated 200 stockings. The following year, it was something like 300, then last year we gave away around 350. But this year, we just counted, and we have 495 stockings ready to go.
GG: That is amazing! Is there one specific military base you're donating to this year or is your giving spread out over multiple bases?
TL: All of the stockings this year are going to Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. We donated to them last year as well, but our stockings are going to a different group of people this year. Some of them are in the National Guard, some of them are coming back from deployments. There's an organization there called the Family Readiness Center, and I’ve been working with a gentleman, a veteran who has donated his time there over the years, to make sure the stockings are given to those people who are most in need.
GG: Oh, great! So, when you're going about your planning, how do you determine which military base you select as the donation recipient year in and year out?
TL: Well, I try not to go too far from home. After giving to my daughter’s air force base the first year, I donated to the Great Lakes Naval Base that's here in Illinois the second year. And then last year, like I said, the stockings went to Scott Air Force Base, which is near Springfield. It's quite a way from where I live, but at least it's still in Illinois.
GG: How do you select the products that go into the stockings?
TL: A lot of stuff that we pack in the stockings is snack foods, toiletries, that sort of thing. I know from my daughter’s experience that once they're out of bootcamp, they have to pay for everything themselves. So that's kind of why we select products that might save them some money, even if it's just for a week. Plus, they'll have some fun foods to enjoy too. I've gotten everything from toothpaste and chips, to wallets and tuna fish. I mean, it's kind of an array of different items.
GG: And with regard to Green Goo specifically, can you tell me how you came across the brand or how you began communicating with Jodi Scott, our CEO and Co-founder, to participate in your program?
TL: I did a simple Google search on toiletry items, and that's how I originally came across Green Goo. Last year, Green Goo supported us with hand sanitizers and lip balms, so I reached out once again, and Jodi and the Green Goo team have been awesome.
GG: I don't know if Jodi mentioned this to you or not, but she comes from a military family herself, so I know that these sorts of endeavors are close to her heart. We’re genuinely honored to be participating once again this year. So, regarding your efforts, is there a way our followers can help support your annual giving? Do you have social media or a website where we can direct people in case anyone would like to donate products, monetary funds for shipping or materials, etc.?
TL: I do have a Tina’s Stockings For Soldiers Facebook page, where I’ll be posting pictures. There's also a GoFundMe page we’ve set up as well.
GG: This is great! Thank you!
Ok, lastly, we’d like to ask you a question that’s not directly related to Tina’s Stockings For Soldiers: Favorite holiday food or dessert?
TL: Well, I come from a German background, so anything like dumplings, red cabbage. Actually, we're making schnitzel this year, so I'm pretty happy that my in-laws, although they're Italian, are more than happy to partake in our culture.
GG: Sounds delicious. Again, we appreciate your time, and we're so grateful to be a part of your holiday giving. What you’re doing is awesome!
]]>After many moons of watering and waiting, our bulbs are finally blooming. For some reason the crocus didn't herald spring--as they usually do--so it looks like the tulips will flower first in our beds.
We planted dozens of bulbs this year and we can't wait to see which ones made it through this most recent and wild winter. If you have flowers blooming, we'd love to see them over on our Facebook and Instagram.
We've had varying degrees of luck growing straight from seed in our veggie garden and we've learned a great way to get ahead of that is to start seeds early. Thanks to our 'Handy Dandy, Cheap-o-Matic, Indoor Greenhouse' set up (patent pending), we've been able to kick-start the growing process to give our seedlings a better-than-average chance of taking root. It's amazing what you can do with a little PVC, some plastic, and a few lights...and even less"
Right now we're hardening the young plants, which means turning off the grow lights and taking them outdoors every day to get them more accustomed to the natural elements and their regular sun schedule. It's a tough time for all of us. They grow up so fast!
We're experimenting with a hoop garden in the side yard. The neighbors say it won't work and, if we do grow anything, we'll probably just be feeding the local fawns, but we're determined. As long as the dogs don't dig it up we'll probably consider it a win no matter what happens!
One of the best things about gardening is that you never stop learning, and every patch of dirt is a little bit different. We've been planting with purpose our whole lives and we're still discovering more each year about the earth's bounty and how to work with it to Spread Goodness.
This time of year we keep some very specific Green Goo around. We use Solar Goo natural sunscreen to keep the farmer's tan at bay. We keep a jar of Pain Relief close by for the aches and pains at the end of the day. You must have a tin of First Aid handy to deal with the blisters, skin tears, splinters, and bug bites you might get while planting. Incidentally, if you drop those three things in your cart, you'll qualify for free shipping!
What a weird week of weather! We finally got our first fully-bloomed flower! But we've also had crazy wind, big temperature changes, and midnight storms.
Hopefully, wherever you are, it isn't too crazy and your family is safe. We've heard folks are encountering everything from sand storms and tornadoes to snow! Spring came in like a lion for sure.
After watching the weather and going through a fit of indecisiveness, we decided to bite the bullet and put our newly-hardened starts in the ground on this past weekend.
As you can see we've laid out a simple water line. Our little plant buddies may be a tad too close together, but we had so many plants. So we tried to get as many in as we could. We planted some leafy vegetables, carrots, beets, yarrow, and more. We also chose a section of hillside in the yard and planted hundreds of wildflowers! We're excited to see how everything grows.
We went with a fairly simple design. First, hammer some rebar in the ground. Then the PVC should fit right over. You bend the PVC into a U-shape, drop the other end over the corresponding rebar stake, and voila! Once the framework was up, we covered it in some semi-transparent plastic and used metal clips and zip ties to hold everything in place.
It looked great...until the wind kicked up again. Once the clips gave up we discovered we had made a giant kite. There were some fun moments in the side yard wrangling plastic, searching for clips, and trying to engineer in the moment. After the weather provided us a few opportunities to fix our design, we added some rocks around the bottom to help hold the shell in place. So far, so good!
Don't have anything in the garden yet? It's never too late to start! Click here for some fun ideas for your own herb garden.
After the latest front came through we all came down with the sniffles. There's dust and pollen in the air and it's so dry right now. Luckily, we have Free To Breathe to help offer natural relief from congestion. That, a bunch of sleep, and plenty of water helped us get back on our feet quickly.
We also found we were reaching for your lip balm more this week, and that we needed more of our Dry Skin salve than normal to help us deal with windburn and help our skin stay hydrated and healthy.
Right now, if you added jars of Free To Breathe and Dry Skin, along with a pocketful of lip balms, to your cart, you'd qualify for free shipping (in the contiguous United States)!
]]>Why do you love sunflowers? Let us know in the comments -- we love hearing from you.
]]>Ladies and gentlemen, we’re going to be a bit verbose here because we’re excited, but we’re not being hyperbolic when we say that this new line of deodorants is revolutionary. It is the start of a really exciting journey for us and may change the way you think about (and what you expect from) your everyday skin and body care.
You can! It turns out, because of the high absorption rate of the skin in our armpits, you can make a deodorant that does so much more than just fight wetness and control odor.
So, we’ve been hitting the books, talking to our most trusted salve sisters, and searching the world for fruits, roots, functional mushrooms, and flowers that do more. We found botanicals that help improve our cognitive function, Plants With Purpose that are friendly to your immune system, and help boost your body, as well as herbs and essential oils that are adaptogens to help you find your calm. Then we got to work and created a new kind of herbal deodorant - Plants For Your Pits.
Our armpits are composed of mostly soft tissue and a large number of lymph nodes (about 20 clumps) with one clump closer to the surface. These lymph nodes are an important part of our body's immune system. They produce lymphocytes that fight infection and filter toxins. Some studies show a significantly higher absorption in the armpit. That’s why deodorants with toxic ingredients have been such an issue over the years. If you've used them, you’ve likely been absorbing some pretty bad stuff on a daily basis.
At Sierra Sage we have been exploring the transdermal absorption of plants over the last 10 years. The lipid infusion process is our superpower and we are passionate about perfecting our formulas to optimize the effectiveness of the concentration of the plants, the oils which transport the plants, and ensuring that they absorb well to do the most Good.
Our renewed plant study brought us back to some old favorites like Lavender, Sage, and Patchouli, while it has us pondering: is the world ready for functional mushrooms and Grapefruit in their armpits?
We brought our new herbs, oils, flowers, and mushrooms together and started imagining how we could do more for our wellness intentionally. We thought about you and your day–and the different things you might need–depending on how it’s going. We made a plan for a first batch and then worked and reworked the formulas until they met our radical “Plants For Your” criteria:
For this trio and the premiere of Plants For Your Pits, we thought it would be great to try boosting the body in three different ways. That premise and the aroma profiles of our ingredients helped us narrow in on the best botanical combinations. Here’s what we finally settled on after countless pit swipes and sleepless nights.
As you can see, we found some pretty amazing plants, and that’s not the half of it. There are too many benefits for some of these ingredients to even try to list them all. We highly recommend doing even more research when you have some time. We always suggest knowing what is in your skin and body care even when it’s natural and organic, like our deodorants.
With Plants For Your Pits you can take advantage of the many aromatic and adaptogenic benefits throughout the day. Had a tough meeting and need to refresh and recenter? Grab your handy deodorant, give it a swipe or two, take a deep breath, and get back at it. Something so simple that you already do.
It’s time to rethink odor and wetness protection. It’s time to get rid of the toxins, go natural, and expect more. It’s time to consider wellness as we choose between our everyday skin and body care options. We are excited and proud to be able to help lead this charge with innovative plant-based solutions. Stay tuned throughout the year, because we are already working on even more ways to use Plants For Your daily health and wellness.
In the meantime, please explore our site. There are plenty of examples of Green Goo products utilizing Plants With Purpose to do more. Our peppermint toothpaste is a great case in point, along with our everyday skincare salves.
We hope you enjoy our new deodorant line - Plants For Your Pits. If you give it a try, let us know what you think. We can’t wait to hear which one you chose and how it worked for you.

Soothing, cooling, and cleansing, plantain helps to protect the skin.

Contains beneficial flavonoids and salicylic acid. Widely used on hemorrhoids.
Rich in antioxidants, calendula protects and hydrates skin.
Ginseng invigorates the skin and the sexual experience.
Cooling, calming, soothing, and relaxing, peppermint increases sensitivity.
An antioxidant that is easily absorbed into the skin, vitamin E moisturizes, hydrates, and soothes.
Coconut oil naturally hydrates and moisturizes by mimicking the body's own oils to promote healthy skin and a lavish glide. According to a 2014 study, coconut oil is proven as an effective and safe alternative for synthetic lubricants.
All of our intimate products are gluten-free and do not contain petroleum, parabens, mineral oil, silicone, lanolin, or any artificial ingredients. In fact, most of the ingredients we use in our formulations are registered organic. By choosing plant-based, you can trust what you’re using during you and your partner’s most intimate moments.

]]>One of more of these tips may be just what you need for a deeper and more restful night’s sleep.
There's a reason many parents create a bedtime ritual for their children. It helps them to fall asleep easier! Just because you're an adult, it doesn't mean a similar ritual won't work for you.
Everyone's ritual will be unique to them but consider incorporating some simple stretching, relaxing music, light reading, sipping warm milk or herbal tea, meditation, and/or counting your blessings from the day into your bedtime ritual. Laying out your nightclothes, brushing your teeth, and washing your face all signal your body that it's time to sleep.
Taking a warm bath before bed is very relaxing. Combining that relaxing warmth with the calming effects of aromatherapy is sure to improve your sleep. Our Lavender + Bergamot Bath Salts for instance, will help ease sore muscles, calm your nerves, and help you unwind from the stresses of the day.
A comfortable mattress, cozy bedding, subdued lighting, and a quiet atmosphere all contribute to better sleep. So does a cool room — somewhere in the 60-70° range is ideal. If you get chilled at night, grab a fluffy down comforter. It will keep you toasty without weighing you down.
The light from electronic screens is stimulating and that's the last thing you need at bedtime! This means no TV, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Unplugging allows for your natural circadian rhythm to properly cycle. Give your brain and eyes some downtime in preparation for better sleep. Your well-rested body will thank you for it tomorrow!
During progressive relaxation, you'll try to tense and then relax every muscle in your body. The Mayo Clinic suggests starting with either your head or toes and slowly working your way to the other end. Tense each muscle group for approximately 5 seconds. Relax for approximately 30 seconds, then tense the next muscle group. Repeat the process until you either reach the other end or fall asleep.
We tend to dim the lights as it gets later. We also steer clear of drinks with a lot of sugar and caffeine. There are a few herbs you can use to help you feel sleepy. We know herbal teas always help us. What about you? Do you have any routines that help you get better rest? What about habits that keep you up late? Let us know in the comments and until we talk again, Green Goo wishes you a peaceful night’s rest and sweet dreams!

Each product is made from the finest organic botanicals and oils; ingredients known the world over for their skin nourishing and adaptogenic properties.
It was so much fun putting together this sleep kit. Every detail has been poured over, every ingredient vetted; there were several versions tested and rejected. We made new salve friends, discovered some new plants, and finally agreed on a selection that goes above and beyond our expectations.
When used together, we think this kit is going to help you achieve happier, healthier, clearer skin on your face. When used as a routine, these amazing organic products will help you transition to a great night's sleep.
Our gift box includes a laser-engraved Green Goo GooRu logo, plus exclusive pillowcase, headband, and scrunchie from The Silk Lady. They are one of our new friends, A South African company that makes chemical-free silk scarves, masks, sheets, and more.
Inside the box you'll find our oil-based cleansing and moisturizing Facial Wash. It replenishes and nurtures your skin, leaving it clean and radiant without clogging your pores.
You'll also find two kinds of Facial Serum:
Our one-of-a-kind Hydrating Facial Serum is a combination of organic oils, like frankincense and rose, that nourishes and hydrates your skin, absorbs easily, and never leaves you feeling greasy. Our groundbreaking Repairing Facial Serum fortifies, nourishes, and helps repair damaged skin with targeted all-natural ingredients like jojoba and blue chamomile.
Next you'll find our brand new Sleep Roll-On. We've infused a calming, grounding, and relaxing blend of lavender, ylang ylang, and other essential oils to create the perfect mood for great sleep.
Speaking of brand new: introducing our new, kit-exclusive Sweet Dreams Pillow Spray. Sandalwood and lavender encourage relaxation, ease anxiety, and promote sleep adaptogenically.
Most of our days are pretty long and they don't usually end up the same way. Apparently, running a women-owned, family-operated all-natural skin care company that's trying to change the world doesn't happen on a regular schedule. Who knew?
So we're going to imagine a world where everything is done; the dishes are clean or the dishwasher is humming in the kitchen in the dark. All the kids have been washed and hugged. We read them a story or three and checked in on school and homework and friends.
We've had a second to canoodle our partners and chat about today and tomorrow. The weather is nice enough to open some windows while we check that the doors that need to be locked are secure.
Then we wander into the bathroom, tidy up just a bit, and light a candle. Maybe we take a bath or long shower. If so, there's singing and more than a few deep exhales. Let the day go. Breathe. Fortify.
Then our Sierra Sage Sleep Secret begins.
We start with cleansing our face with our oil-based Facial Wash. It's such a good cleanser; it moisturizes and it starts our aromatic journey with a blend of lavender, rosemary, and calendula. Don't forget you have that organic silk scrunchie to help keep your hair back without causing split ends.
Once our face is clean we take a moment; drop the towel, grab something comfortable to wear, maybe put on some all-natural deodorant. Then, once our skin has had a chance to settle, we look at ourselves, check our necks, our cheeks, and forehead. Still got it!
Depending on whether we need exceptional everyday moisturizing or some help repairing problem areas, we choose between the Hydrating Facial Serum or the Repairing Facial Serum. We apply a few drops to our fingers or palms and massage the organic, adaptogenic blend into our face for a few minutes. We love these serums, and both have such distinctive compositions and aromas. It's hard to choose some nights.
After that we finish up in the bathroom and head to bed where our Sleep Roll-On and Sweet Dreams Pillow Spray are waiting. If you're like us there's more moisturizing, and then we use the roll-on to do a quick swipe of our favorite pressure points, like wrists, feet, hands, and temples.
We're almost there! Just have to pull those blankets back; spray the bed and our pillowcase with a sleep-friendly trio of lavender, sandalwood, and ylang ylang; and dive in. SWEET DREAMS!
We're guessing that a few of you already knew that silk pillowcases are actually better for your face and your hair. Some of the Green Goo Crew were pretty surprised. It's soft and smooth, obviously, so it doesn't snag as much.
Mulberry silk has a pH that's similar to our skin, it doesn't absorb oil like cotton does, and it's hypoallergenic! It helps prevent your face from creasing as much and also helps prevent your hair from frizzing. Our partner, The Silk Lady, who made these pillowcases, has a page on the benefits and Healthline has some good info too.
The Green Goo Crew is going to try to give away $100,000 worth of products and donations between now and New Years. We kicked things off by sponsoring the Denver Film Festival and the Vulture Festival, and we're sponsoring a TeamSmile event, too! We have some more exciting announcements in store and are so excited to Spread some Goodness this holiday season with all of you!

]]>We’re continuing our autumn theme of elevating our everyday self care with a quick look at our toothpastes. Maybe oral care doesn’t immediately spring to mind when you’re thinking about pampering yourself, but we think it should. Your mouth is a combination of amazing systems all working together to protect you, and to break down and absorb whatever you put into it.
And yet, too many oral hygiene products contain ingredients that burn your mouth, are too harsh, or are actually toxic. Why, when there are plant-based alternatives? We know we can do better. You won’t find propylene glycol, triclosan, or fluoride in our toothpaste. Instead, we choose Plants With Purpose to elevate your teeth-cleaning routine.
All of our toothpastes include three heroes: Calendula, Aloe Vera, and Peppermint. They're packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals to nourish your teeth and gums. Aloe cleanses and soothes, and Peppermint Oil freshens your breath naturally while it cleans your teeth. If you like the sound of that, you’re going to love our Peppermint Toothpaste.
Our second toothpaste option adds Chlorophyll to the mix. We’re pretty excited to see the growing popularity of this unique ingredient. It’s packed with vitamins and minerals, too, and also helps you fight bad breath, soothe your gums, and reduce bacteria and gingivitis. You can get this awesomely green Green Goo here.
And, finally, we have a toothpaste with Hemp Seed Oil. This oil is a superfood with vitamins, minerals, and proteins, as well as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. This nutrient-dense combination makes it great for supporting sensitive teeth and gums, while helping whiten your teeth and preventing tooth decay. (FYI - hemp seed oil is safe and legal.)
One more thing! We made the switch from plastic to sugarcane packaging. So now our squeeze tubes are BPA free, 100% recyclable, ISO certified, and FDA approved. It’s better for the environment because sugarcane is sustainable, renewable, and absorbs greenhouse gases. We also offer biodegradable bamboo toothbrushes for your rinsing station inside and outdoors.
It’s time for you to make the switch! You can cut unnecessary chemicals from your daily routine while upgrading your oral hygiene with nutrient-rich ingredients that feed your body, soothe your gums, and help keep your teeth bright and clean.
Green Goo is revolutionizing personal care by taking those products you use most and asking them to do more. Stay tuned for more amazing products coming soon!
]]>If you’re going to use anything that often, and on your face, we think it should be made of the best, most effective ingredients possible. Turns out some of the best-selling lip balms are made of mostly petroleum byproducts and harmful chemicals. What you get from that kind of ingredients list is a lip covering, some artificial scent/taste, and not much else. Some of these ingredients can actually damage your lips or make them drier, leaving you stuck in a painful cycle. In those instances, the thing that is supposed to be helping you is actually causing harm.
Green Goo's lip balm, by contrast, is mostly plants, but not just any plants. These are some of the most nutrient-rich, complex botanicals on the planet: calendula, sunflower, jojoba seed oil, and olive oil. They protect your lips, for sure, but that’s just the beginning. These ingredients can soothe, help mend dry and damaged lips, and hydrate and moisturize. Plus, they’re delivering vitamins and minerals right where you need them for a healthier smile.
That’s not even the half of it! Peppermint can make your lips look fuller naturally, coconut oil has a bit of natural sun protection to it, and beeswax comes with its own amazing array of fatty acids, vitamins, and esters. Our lip balm doesn’t just cover: it’s Food For Your Skin!
That’s why we believe using the right lip balm can be self care, too. With a lip balm like ours, you’re doing more than just covering your kissers with a stinky, not-so-harmless petroleum jelly. You’re making a proactive choice to protect and care for your lips and enrich your smile all-naturally with amazing, proven, organic herbs and plant oils.
And our lip balm really works, but you don’t have to take our word for it. Our customers love it, too.
Heather said: “I use lip balm constantly. I have one in my car, room, kitchen, purse etc. With this stuff I can go hours without needing to reapply! I buy 10-12 at a time to stock up . . .”
Carrie said: “Super smooth. Long lasting too. Feels good on my body, and feels good to my heart to support this small business.”
And Courtney said: “I can use this without my lips feeling overly greasy and it doesn't soak in super fast, making me feel like I need to constantly apply it. I have used this on very chapped lips and it helped heal them quickly and I still use it for daily use.”

P.S. Just out of curiosity, how many lip balms do you own? We checked the discussion boards online and some folks said they had more than 20!
]]>We get it: kids can be kind of gross in all their self-exploration and worldly adventures — and you can't exactly hose them down before they get in the car. That's why our Back to School collection includes our FDA-approved, WHO-compliant gel hand sanitizer made with ethyl alcohol. While nothing is as good as at least 20 seconds of handwashing with soap and water, a 2007 article in the American Journal of Nursing found that alcohol-based gel sanitizers, like those we supply, performed better than their liquid hand rub counterparts during hygiene compliance tests. From travel-sized, 100% recyclable squeeze tubes that you can throw in your purse to one-gallon pump bottles that you can donate to your child's classroom, we've got the high-performing sanitizer you need.
Save $1 on 3 oz. sanitizer, 25% on unscented sanitizer, & 25% on 1 oz. 10-packs
Cuts and scrapes are a normal part of growing up, but sometimes playground fun gone awry requires wound care. That's why we've included our First Aid Salve and Children's First Aid Salve in this collection. These mighty jars are packed with natural, plant-based ingredients to manage everything from cracked hands to sunburns, and they have the power to replace more than 20 traditional first aid items so that you can travel lighter. Additionally, Green Goo donates one percent of our annual sales of Children's First Aid Salve to support World Vision's Mother and Child Health Fund.

Whether your fall scenery turns to tundra by October, hits 105 degrees in December, or is sunny and 75 degrees 11 months out of the year, chapped lips can happen to any of us. But our lip balms don't just soothe and heal cracks; they also provide natural sun protection and use ingredients that nourish your skin while they moisturize.
As much as we love them, sometimes our dear children stink (we're looking at you, parents of pre-teens and teens). And in these cases, investing in an effective deodorant can feel like an act of self-preservation as much as a kindness to others. Enter: Green Goo's Plants For Your Pits. Our soothing and moisturizing deodorants are aluminum-free and vegan and come in various scents to align with any preference. We suggest one for their workout bag, one for their backpack, one for their bathroom, and one for the bedroom. Then they have to use it, right?
Exposure accounts for nearly 90% of all damage to our skin, contributing to things like aging and skin cancer. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends applying water-resistant, broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 when spending time outdoors. Like all our products, Solar Goo offers a plant-based alternative to similar items on the market. This water-resistant, broad-spectrum SPF 30 is petroleum-free and chemical-free, and made of just seven natural ingredients. It's designed to provide your kids with 40 minutes of fun in the sun (more than enough time for recess!) before needing to reapply.
There are extra considerations around staying healthy and safe beyond hand sanitizer and soap. We're parents, too, so we know all too well that back-to-school also means back-to-germs because our kids share everything. We've included our Free To Breathe Salve in this collection so, if someone does happen to catch catch the cold flu, you can get them back to feeling more like themselves sooner. This powerful balm uses calendula, eucalyptus, and peppermint oils to open up your nasal passages and ease congestion.
When you choose Green Goo products, you're choosing Plants With Purpose. You can rest easy knowing that your family uses only the gentlest, most natural solutions available for everything in your day-to-day life.
]]>We all know that uncertainty can play a significant role in anxiety, and the past 18 months have already provided enough of it to last a lifetime. As your kids prepare to go back to school — in-person, virtually, or a combination — outline a routine to guide your family through daily and weekly life. Include details like approximate times for going to bed and waking up, meals and snacks, specific classes, lessons or activities, and expected arrivals and departures for those that will be leaving the house. You can even take it a step further by using a calendar in a central location as a snapshot of all family functions, menus for each day, chores, etc. Start practicing the routine a few days or weeks before the semester starts. The more predictable you can make your family's days, the more at ease everyone will feel.
Anxiety often surfaces when we feel like we've lost control over our day-to-day lives. Although we always have our children's best interests at heart when we make decisions for them, kids still crave the ability to hold the reins themselves from time to time, too. One way you can give your child a sense of control is to offer them decision-making power over small things, like what to wear or what to pack for lunch. Whether you give them curated options to choose from or declare open season on closet and pantry, allowing your kids to make these selections can help foster independence, highlight individuality, and perhaps even lead to excitement for the school day ahead.
Sleep is the body's way of repairing and restoring itself, and it plays a critical role in learning and memory. According to the National Sleep Foundation, children need anywhere from eight to 13 hours of sleep a night for optimal brain function, depending on age. As anyone with kids understands, getting those little ones to bed on time can be a difficult task. There are some steps you can take to create healthy sleep habits that ensure your child gets the recommended shut-eye (at least on school nights).
Talk to your kids. Returning to school comes with a standard set of butterflies for parents and children, and the unknowns of the 2020-2021 school year are sure to have a whole host of other bugs buzzing around inside us, too. Let your kids know that any concerns they're feeling are natural and that you'll learn to navigate this new normal together. Addressing anxiety head-on allows you to teach your child how to overcome negative thoughts and emotions instead of bottling them up. Set aside regular times to check in, like over a meal, and watch for signs that regular back-to-school anxiety isn't becoming something more.
Joining the PTA, becoming a room parent, or finding other ways to participate in school events is an impactful way to connect with faculty, staff, and other parents. Your knowledge and insight about campus and members of the school community will allow you to address your child's concerns better and build a positive support network for them. If other obligations make this kind of volunteer involvement unrealistic, you can stay involved by attending parent-teacher nights, parent-teacher meetings, and other family-centered events.
Even with best-laid plans, it's likely that some amount of back-to-school anxiety will still rear its head — but we at Green Goo sincerely hope these tips help make a smooth transition. Best of luck in the new school year and beyond!
]]>It’s no secret that backpacking can take a toll on your muscles, which is why you’re going to want to stretch and use a multipurpose salve that can help your body feel soothed. Seek out a balm that can help you target the discomfort associated with bruises and sore muscles. Some of the best will contain ingredients like arnica, peppermint oil, and cinnamon bark oil to mimic hot and cold temperature changes that can enhance circulation. Massage your salve into areas where you feel anything from a sprain to joint pain as you take a break from your hike. Add a foot-specific formula with calendula and St. John’s Wort to reduce feelings of irritation or discomfort from your day on the trails.
Sweat is our body’s natural way of regulating temperature, and when you’re backpacking it can feel like you’re constantly sweating. And, fact: Sweat doesn’t typically smell good. This means you’ll want to apply a deodorant to fight odor. The best botanical formulas will be baking soda and aluminum-free. Bonus points if it also soothes and moisturizes your armpits. Try to find a brand with scented gel deodorant options. We don't know about you, but we like to smell differently on the trails than we do at a festival or in the boardroom. And of course, especially if you’re sweating a ton, be sure to stay properly hydrated.
With the sun overhead as you backpack, you want to make sure your skin is actively protected. Find a water-resistant sunscreen formula that features broad-spectrum protection for proper coverage. Look for a formula that does away with potentially harsh ingredients like petroleum. The product should feature natural, reef-safe ingredients and be easy to reapply so you can keep your skin hydrated, protected, and nourished.
Add a lip balm to your pack that uses zinc oxide for UV protection and has vitamins and nutrients to help your lips feel soft and silky while you explore. If you do get a little burnt, help soothe minor sunburns with a healing salve that uses aloe vera for a cooling blend while you rest in your tent.
Backpacking helps you stay at one with nature, but there are some elements you’ll want to be ready for. Poison ivy, for instance, is why you’re going to want to have a salve with proven ingredients like grindelia, jewelweed, and plantain on hand in case you accidentally bump into one of these three-leafed beauties. Add a fly repellent to your pack as well. Seek out one with a formula that’s free of synthetics and instead features herbs and essential oils.
It doesn’t matter if your feet are sore or if you need to refresh your sunscreen and natural deodorant, you deserve high-performing products that go above and beyond on your hike. You can feel confident using formulas that are rich in plant-based ingredients without sacrificing effectiveness. Tuck these essentials inspired by nature into your pack and go. Happy trails!

This product does not contain synthetic chemicals, citronella, or DEET. You can also use it as an air deodorizer.
After spending a day in the sun, treat your skin to Skin Repair Salve, a healing aloe vera cream. The healing salve options from Green Goo may be a bit different than what you are used to because the herbs, oils, and beeswax take a second longer to absorb into your skin. The nutrient-rich blend includes aloe vera, vitamin E, coconut oil, and helichrysum to help moisturize, nourish, and improve the look of your skin. You can apply it to minor burns or sun damage, scars, and even wrinkles.
No one likes to stink, not even while camping. Stay fresh with a natural gel deodorant. The botanical formula is free of aluminum and baking soda, glides on smooth, and fights odor while also soothing, moisturizing, and nourishing your skin. Given the gentle yet effective formula, this product is a must for those with sensitive skin. Choose your favorite scent or all three: Apricot Lemongrass, Wild Rose, and Lavender. Our gel deodorant is vegan and does not contain petroleum, parabens, aluminum, gluten, baking soda, mineral oil, or phthalates.

Not only are they family-friendly, with plenty of opportunities to come together for sandcastle contests, frisbee matches, and boogie-boarding, but they offer one of the best chances to invigorate your skin with some vitamin D. As you swim and soak up those summer rays, be sure to protect your skin with some reef-safe sunscreen. Look for a sunscreen featuring all-natural ingredients to let you enjoy your time in the water and do your part to keep nearby reefs happy, healthy, and chemical-free.
Spending any amount of time in the sun is sure to make you thirsty, which is why your summer bag should always include a travel-ready tea tumbler for your hydration needs. Perfect for picnics, pick-me-ups, and every adventure in-between. You’ll love storing and brewing anything from cold brews, to hot teas, to pure and simple H2O. Enjoy more time in the water while your favorite brew stays cold for up to 20 hours, or warm yourself gradually with a hot tea that’ll keep its temperature for up to 10. Whether you’re reading by the pool or halfway through a new hike, you can stay hydrated on your own time and at your own pace.
Speaking of hiking, it’s always a great idea to load your travel bag with an outdoor first aid and adventure kit. Your kit should be portable and include everything you need to fight the scrapes, cuts, burns, and blisters associated with summer activities. Look for natural, effective ingredients. Make sure your kit includes first aid and poison ivy treatments, bug spray, and sanitizer to complement your next picnic, backpacking trip, or visit to the park. Remember to look after the environment around you as you look after yourself. Pick products that feature natural ingredients and recyclable packaging, and remember not to leave anything behind.
After all that adventuring and fun in the sun, your travel bag should include the essentials you need to treat yourself too. With just a few products you can take the spa with you! Rosemary shampoo, with a combination of coconut oil and hydrating botanicals is a great way to nourish and cleanse your hair and scalp. Bring an aloe vera cream and if you have the time and a big tub, why not take a bath with rose and hibiscus bath salts? They'll soothe and revitalize your skin while you wind down from your adventure.
Likewise, if your summer included a new tattoo, you owe it to your skin to treat it with the proper tattoo care. Made with an herbal infusion specifically designed to target the swelling and pain associated with a new tattoo, you’ll have the added benefit of seeing your colors remain vibrant for years to come.

]]>But these chemicals don’t just taste bad.
]]>Text by Lizzy Scully, Photos by Steve Fassbinder
In this two-part series, we’ll examine why putting chemical-ridden soaps and sunscreens on your skin or into the ground is a bad idea. In this first part I focus on soaps and sunscreens and why they are bad for flora and fauna.
Did you know your body actually acquires nutrients through the largest organ in your body—the skin? Right. That’s why, when I put sunscreen on my face or a cheap lip balm on my lips, I can taste the chemicals in my mouth moments later.
But these chemicals don’t just taste bad. Of the 13,000 chemicals used in cosmetics and body care products, the European Union bans 1300. Why? Because studies have shown that they can cause allergies and cancer, or are “endocrine disruptors,” which means they interfere with development and reproduction. There’s also evidence that they can cause neurological and immune system effects. The U.S. bans fewer than a dozen of these chemicals.
Since our government isn’t protecting us, what can we do? Be informed; read labels and stay away from certain products when you're heading into the mountains, deserts, or woods.
When choosing sunscreen for your outdoor adventure, consider avoiding these toxins:
Much better options are mineral sunscreens, such as Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Avobenzone, and Mexoryl SX. Check out Green Goo’s clean, SPF 30 sunblock with only seven ingredients: Solar Goo. I use it daily. Because it doesn't last as long as the sunscreens with more chemicals, I reapply it frequently. However, I don't mind since it's just like putting a healthy lotion on my skin.
Click here to learn about additional toxins worth avoiding in suncsreens in an in-depth study done by the Environmental Working Group
When choosing soaps to use to clean up while in the backcountry, avoid the following:
I was super excited when Green Goo came out with its line of natural soaps, and now have the full Bath + Spa assortment with shampoo, conditioner, bath salts, castile soaps, and more. Check out their Natural Bar Soap line. My favorites are the Calendula + Aloe Baby Bar and the Comfrey + Lavender Healing Bar.
On a final note, whether or not you're glamping with your baby yet, I found so much info in my research on the gnarly chemicals in baby products that I had to mention it. I may even do an entire post on this in the future, as it's pretty scary stuff. Baby shampoos often contain a chemical called 1,4-Dioxane. This is a nasty substance. According to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, exposure to this toxin may cause damage to the central nervous system, liver, and kidneys! Yow. However, you won’t necessarily know it’s even in the baby products you’re using because, according to SafeCosmetics.org, the FDA does not require 1,4-dioxane to be listed as an ingredient on the labels of products. Seriously? But, rest assured, steer clear of these ingredients and you and your baby will have a better chance of having lower levels of toxins in your bodies:
You can also easily avoid these nasties by going with brands that utilize organic and/or all-natural ingredients. Check out Green Goo's Mama + Baby line.

]]>Luckily, since foot blisters are pretty common, so are foot blister treatments. In fact, most foot blisters can be taken care of without having to purchase any extra medication or having to visit a doctor. Furthermore, you can adopt blister prevention strategies to make sure that you don’t have to deal with even small blisters in the first place.
Let’s look at some home treatments for foot blisters and what you can do to prevent them from coming back.
A foot blister is a small bubble of bacterial fluid that gradually forms beneath the top layers of skin on your foot. Blistering is characterized by the bubble of fluid being protected by the topmost level of your skin, which tends to cause significant irritation and inflammation. If left unchecked, a foot blister can interfere with everyday movement or activities, making it difficult to walk, stand, or exercise.
Foot blisters are some of the most common types of blisters, largely because the skin of our feet sees a lot of action throughout the day. Generally speaking, friction is the most common culprit, as it is an easy way for fluid to build up beneath your epidermis.
Here’s a more detailed breakdown of what might cause a blister:
Although foot blisters can come about for tons of reasons, the good news is that you can generally treat blisters with home remedies and general care over the course of a few days. Only blisters that worsen over time with signs of infection need to be brought to a doctor’s attention. In this case, you’ll likely be prescribed other treatments.
If your blister is of the common variety, you can likely treat it yourself. The most important thing to remember is that you should drain the blister carefully with a needle instead of ripping the skin open altogether. Draining the blister by removing the outer layer of skin can open up the skin to infection or contamination, while using a sterile needle keeps the puncture wound relatively small, making it easier for your body to heal.
In some cases, you might need to treat a blister that has already popped or been torn open from regular tension or activity. You can still treat it to some extent to help support the healing process.
If you are able to properly drain a blister, the rest of the treatment steps remain essentially the same as above.
The bandages you choose to treat your foot blisters will matter both for keeping the wound clean and your general comfort. If you’re hiking, for instance, and still need to walk on the affected foot, it’ll help to use bandages that are soft or generally comfortable. But, you’ll also need to use bandages that can withstand repeated friction so they don’t break over the course of your day.
Furthermore, make sure that you can remove the bandages relatively easily, as it helps to reapply antibacterial ointment about once per day. You’ll also need to move the bandage to clean the blister. Just replace the bandage every time to keep things clean, and keep the blister covered until it’s healed.
Although knowing how to treat a blister is important, it’s also crucial to know how to prevent more blisters. For instance, if more blisters are cropping up because of friction, you might need to replace your walking shoes. Shoes that fit too tightly or too loosely can both cause friction: properly fitted shoes are the best solution. It's especially important to be aware of this as you break in new shoes.
You can also adopt other preventative solutions. For instance, you can wear an insole if your feet only rub a specific area of your shoe due to your foot’s arch, or you can wear special moisture-wicking socks or use talcum powder if your blisters are caused because of excessive perspiration.
You can alternatively use thick socks in general in order to make your feet more comfortable. The only thing to be careful with here is making sure your feet don't get too hot and excessively sweat.
Other natural home remedies for foot blisters include:
All in all, taking care of foot blisters is an exercise in cleanliness and care. Having the right routine can go a long way in helping your blisters to heal properly as well as helping you find some relief from the temporary irritation caused by those blisters. Assistive products like Green Goo’s Foot Care Salve and First Aid Salve are examples of great options you can include in your care routine to support the healing process while providing some overall relief. Although we can’t get rid of blisters permanently, we can certainly learn how to take care of them properly to help our feet get back on the saddle for our next hike!

]]>However, you can learn to identify and treat poison sumac using natural remedies and botanicals. With the right foresight and a few all natural salves up your sleeve, you’ll have the tools to deal with poison sumac if you or your kids come home with red rashes all over.
Poison sumac is one of the most toxic plants in the country – but it’s only located in a few select areas throughout the contiguous United States. If you live in Florida, the Southeast U.S., and any wooded or wet areas in the northern U.S., you should be careful whenever you explore since you'll likely find this plant blooming throughout the summer and fall seasons.
Like its close cousins poison oak and poison ivy, poison sumac produces an oil called urushiol. If you get this oil on your skin, you'll get an itchy rash and may experience an allergic reaction.
Fortunately, identifying poison sumac is pretty easy, even if it can look like other types of bushes and trees. It’s characterized by:
You can use this information to identify poison sumac on your property and avoid it. But if you’re unlucky enough to get some of the sumac’s urushiol on your skin, don’t worry--there are ways you can treat the resulting rash with all-natural remedies.
Not quite, even though the plants are so similar in terms of their symptoms that a lot of people use the names interchangeably.
Poison oak isn’t always found in the same areas – in fact, it’s normally located in the western United States. As opposed to poison sumac, poison oak usually grows as a shrub and features large and rounded leaves like those of an oak tree. This is where it gets its name.
Meanwhile, poison ivy is common throughout the U.S. and can look like a vine or ground cover plant. It features leaves that grow in groups of three, and it sometimes has yellow or white flowers attached.
All three plants have that same poisonous oil and should be avoided at all costs. But while poison sumac isn’t the same as these other two plants, the symptoms of coming into contact with it are almost identical. This means that a treatment that works for one is likely to work for all three.
As with poison oak and ivy, poison sumac produces an allergic reaction on practically everyone's skin thanks to the urushiol oil its leaves produce as a defensive measure. While this stops the plant from being eaten by herbivores, it can be quite the surprise for a hiker exploring the wilderness or kids playing outside.
Whether the plant is alive or dead, all parts of the plant are poisonous due to the urushiol oil, and should never be touched without appropriate protection.
Symptoms from a rash from a poison sumac plant can include:
The symptoms of poison sumac rash can quickly exacerbate since a lot of people aren’t aware that they have touched any of the oil until it’s too late.
For instance, you might accidentally get some of the oil on your sleeve. If your hand touches your sleeve, then scratches other areas on your body, you could potentially spread poison sumac rash everywhere your hand touched.
The symptoms of poison sumac rash usually appear between 8 and 48 hours after exposure. Unfortunately, the symptoms can also last for weeks if they aren’t treated. Note that the rash isn’t contagious, so you won’t give someone else poison sumac rash so long as you thoroughly wash the affected area and get rid of any residual oil.
The best way to avoid poison sumac rash is to minimize the possibility that your skin will come into contact with the oil. To do this, practice the following strategies and techniques:
It’s always a good idea to talk to a doctor if you contract a really serious case of poison sumac rash. But if you just get a little oil on your skin, there are tons of botanicals and natural remedies you can rely on to treat the condition.
You should first always thoroughly wash the affected area with soap and water. Be sure to do so without spreading the rash throughout the rest of your body. Because of this, it’s recommended that you avoid taking a shower if the rash is somewhere on your upper body since plain water can accidentally spread some of the oil down to your abdomen, legs, and feet.
After thoroughly washing with warm water and soap, dry the rash.
Next step? Grab your trusty tin of Green Goo’s Poison Ivy Salve. While it’s not named for poison sumac specifically, it can help with the effects of poison sumac rash the same way it can help with poison ivy. That’s because it features an effective blend of natural ingredients like calendula, plantain, chickweed, sage leaf, St. John’s Wort, and much more, all specifically chosen to help soothe and protect your skin.
All of these ingredients blend together and can help relieve the itchiness and pain that results from exposure to urushiol.
Feel free to apply the salve often as long as your skin is thoroughly cleaned and dried. Use as much as necessary to alleviate itchiness, pain, and oozing resulting from poison sumac. You can also use this salve for other skin conditions, too!
There are also other home remedies for poison sumac itching that use natural ingredients or botanicals. For instance, you can apply a little rubbing alcohol to the rash to dry out your skin and cause the skin to flake away a little more quickly. Be sure not to overdo this since you may accidentally overly dry your skin and cause damage.
Alternatively, try the following mixture:
Mixing these together will allow you to make your own anti-poison sumac topical treatment. This should neutralize most of the irritation without being too harsh on your skin. Though, we’ll be frank with you--our salve will do a lot better job because we’ve included a lot more skin-soothing and skin-supporting ingredients specifically intended to give you relief.
Lastly, you can mix one or two cups of colloidal oatmeal in a warm bath if the rash has spread across your body. The oatmeal helps soothe and nourish irritated skin so it can heal properly.
All in all, taking care of a poison sumac reaction is very similar to taking care of poison ivy and poison oak irritation. Most of the same strategies and techniques for avoiding the plant also apply to its itchy cousins. Similarly, you can use the same kinds of topical and botanical treatments like our Poison Ivy Salve to take care of any of these three rash-producers.
However, we again stress that you shouldn't hesitate to contact a doctor if your rashes become particularly severe or if you inhale smoke from burning poison sumac by accident.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

]]>Now, we are not saying that staying at home more has led to hibernation-level eating habits, but this author will humbly admit to falling off the workout wagon after his gym temporarily closed its doors. Am I slightly less disappointed in myself because the outlook for upcoming weekends spent poolside in Tan Mode is less than optimistic? Maybe. Do I still rue slacking off for the better part of a month? Yes.
Dwelling on the past is not going to help----getting back on the wagon absolutely will. So where do we start if we are planning for a typical summer? We all have our weaknesses and not every workout caters to every individual. Here are a few options to consider if you want to be ready for summertime:
Inside or outside, you have the necessary gear to engage in body-weight training (hint: look in the mirror). For someone used to dumbbells and cable machines and squat racks – like me – the prospect of a bare floor can be an uncomfortable unknown. Muscle & Fitness has a wonderful Bodyweight Beach Workouts article outlining a week’s schedule with simple-yet-exhausting exercises like burpees, dips, lunges, and sprints that do not require expensive equipment. While it might be nice to run on the beach as the article suggests, you can easily turn a backyard or part of a park into your workout space. If you are concerned with the intensity of the plan, just do the exercises you feel work for you, at your own pace – no shame in knowing your limits and goals.
While outside, remember to protect your skin from harmful rays with broad-spectrum SPF sunscreen.
Running any meaningful distance is out of the question for me due to a nagging injury or two, though it might be one of the most complete cardiovascular-focused options around. There are alternatives I very much enjoy, like swimming, but times dictate we get a bit more creative. Shape has The Best Cardio Workout at Home, a circuit similar to a body-weight session with less of an emphasis on strength training. It includes a warm-up and yoga cool-down activities with breathing tips so you can get the most out of the workout and recover, too.
Shape recommends a morning start time to jumpstart your day. You may want to unwind later with a relaxing, relieving soak.
We have already shared a blog on at-home workouts you can do with your kids. The tips are horseplay-heavy and aimed at families with younger kids with games like hide and seek. There are some nifty tidbits regarding using other humans as resistance equipment, though. Think of your children – or non-youth roommates – as opposing forces; utilize them to add that much more weight or difficulty to an already strenuous movement. Experiment with other activities, too, not just those with names like plank or bench press (Tug of War, anyone?).
Roughhousing comes with its own considerations. Be prepared to quickly take care of scratches and other wounds that are bound to happen.
If you can, look to Mother Nature as a natural gym. Following recommended and mandated guidelines for social distancing and other measures aimed at maximizing safety outside of the home, start by exploring the areas around your residence. I am not saying you should begin your rock-climbing journey at the first cliff face you come across but dare to stray from the path of least resistance. Turn steppingstones into a hopscotch court. Pick up bigger rocks and boulders (one at a time) and take them for a lap. Use a natural incline/decline for adjustable exercises like crunches and pushups. Dodge those pesky squirrels or chase them up a tree to get your lungs burning. Just be kind to and smart with Earth’s offerings, and be sure to remain aware of your surroundings.
You will not find the kind of CAUTION notices gyms post for liability purposes out in nature. You will want to ward off bugs that sting and think about carrying relief for rashes and other skin irritations caused by plants poisonous or otherwise.
Of course, diet and things like sleep patterns will affect your energy levels and fitness; exercising is just one part of an overall plan. We have published a few blogs on immune-boosting foods and things you can do to relax and de-stress. Let us know if you have workout tips or other notes about getting ready for summer.
]]>Planning is vital to a good staycation. Plan what you are going to do and stick to the plan. Don't fall back into your normal routine. It is easy to do. "I'm just going to check one little email. " Or, "What can it hurt to do some paperwork?" No falling back into your normal routine just because you are home.
The last thing you want to be doing on your staycation is cleaning. Consider hiring or bribing family members to take care of any real cleaning that might need to be done during your time off. Have someone else put out the trash or mow the grass. You’ll probably spend less for the help than you would have on gas. Rest and relaxation are key!
Consider the budget you would use if you were away and invest that into foods that you can turn into delicious dinners at home. If it's dinner for two, splurge on steaks and seafood. If it's a family deal, plan some fun-themed dinners and indulge in things you don't do on a regular basis. Think ice cream sundae bar or Taco Tuesday night complete with a piñata.
Souvenirs are part of any vacation or family reunion, so why not have them from your staycation? New mugs are a great option. Family t-shirts, fun prizes for game night, or even small floral designs that will remind you of your time together are great ideas. Take lots of pictures. Making memories is what it is all about.
Green Goo has a wonderful line of intimate products that can make your romantic staycation extra special Our massage oil is perfect for a relaxing evening. Just add the sound of crickets and a campfire and you’ll have yourself a perfect night
Your staycation can be magical and relaxing if you do a little planning and have some fun! Did we miss any great tips? Let us know how you prefer to spend time with your loved ones this summer while enjoying our plant-based skincare products!

Always go with a more experienced friend or with a hiking group. Until you are more familiar with a route and until you are much more familiar with the ups and downs of hiking, you should not be alone. Friends and colleagues can get help if you're injured.
"Ease" is a relative term. A hike that sounds easy when described by an expert may still be too much for you. Find a local hiking guide -- most cities and states have expert hikers who publish books filled with details about hiking routes -- that rates each hike by skill level. Start with beginner hikes even if you think you're in shape and know the area.
The gear you need will vary depending on the trail; a half-mile loop around a nature center may require a hat and good walking shoes, while boulder scrambling will require proper hiking boots and special socks. Regardless, be sure you have shoes and socks that are appropriate for the trail, and always bring a hat and sunglasses. Carry water with you, as well as basic first-aid supplies. And don't forget an extra battery pack for your phone!
So many variables go into each hike that you should get into the habit of being prepared for pretty much anything. Carry water, energy snacks, bandages, sunscreen, and bug spray. Even if you put on that sunscreen and bug repellent before you leave home, carry more with you so you can reapply it as needed. Dress in layers to combat changing temperatures and invest in the right shoes. Carry an extra mask or two as well; you never know how many people will be on the same trail and how sweaty the mask you're wearing will get.
On a nice day, it's very easy to overdo it while hiking. Plan your route and choose one that seems easier and shorter than you think you can handle. It's better to underdo it, especially when you first begin hiking, than to overdo it and need help.
Due to current events, some parks and trails might be closed or have new hours. Make sure to check while planning your next great adventure. Hiking is such an exciting and rewarding activity. We at Green Goo love hiking so much that we proudly donate 1% of the purchase of our Foot Care salve to support the diligent work of the Pacific Crest Trail Association. The PCTA protects and maintains the 2,650-mile-long trail spanning the southern and northern borders of the U.S. along California, Oregon, and Washington. What’s not to love?
If you head out on the trails and take Green Goo with you, take a picture and tag us on social media, @GreenGooHelps. We’d love to see your adventures and the amazing places that they take you! Before we sign off, we want to remind you to bring your hand sanitizer too. Sinks and soap probably won’t be available in a lot of places. Having it handy means, if you forget and touch something in a high traffic sear, you’ll be able to sanitize immediately. Better safe than sorry. We hope you enjoy your next expedition and that our tips are helpful. If you have any additional thoughts, let us know. Until next time, happy hiking!
]]>Since we’re having open conversations in connection with our celebration of parenthood and because of a surprising hero from the Mama + Baby line that saved the day, I thought the timing of this story was kismet.
I came across a product recently from what I thought was a good “natural” brand. It was a room and fabric deodorizer and I started using it immediately. The smell was ok, if a little overpowering. My wife wasn’t a big fan.
A day or so later I noticed a little itchy patch on my skin. Two days after that my torso was more or less covered in a rash. Unfortunately, I had no idea what was causing the reaction at first, so I continued to use the product. It was really only luck and boredom that finally led me to read that label, where I found the words, “Contains Fragrance Allergens”.
At least now I know and I learned my lesson. Trust, but verify.
I don’t remember the last time I had a rash this big and bad, but it’s pretty awful. I’ve gone through two travel tins of First Aid, which seriously helped. Not only did it fortify and replenish my skin, so that it could fight the irritation more effectively, it also relieved some of the pain and itchiness, while it protected my skin and helped it heal. I added some Good Goo massage oil into my routine after showers to help calm and replenish my skin and that helped a lot too.
Eventually, I ran through my cache of First Aid, which had me a little worried. So, I went digging through our Green Goo stash and that’s when I happened on our Belly Balm. It stuck out because we just reposted a blog about it and I was about to dismiss it as an option, when I paused.
My skin is stressed out and itchy. Check. Check. I need protection, relief, and help healing and I need something that’s gentle and non-toxic. Check, check, check. Long story short, it is working great.
That led me to wonder what else I might be able to use in a pinch. Our Poison Ivy Salve would work. So would our Baby Balm, Children’s First Aid, Pain Relief, and Dry Skin. Our massage oils do help, as I’ve said and our bath salts would offer some relief too. I almost took a soak with our Herbal Sitz Bath, but to be honest I didn’t feel like washing the tub. Regardless, I took some comfort in knowing I had options.
It’s not surprising I suppose. If you look up all-natural remedies for itchy skin you’ll find several of our ingredients. From aloe, jojoba, and chamomile to coconut and olive oil, Green Goo’s plant based ingredients have a variety of uses and benefits beyond their primary purpose in each of our skin or body care products. . . but to watch and feel it work on something this big was astonishing.
So there you have it. Read those labels! Be kind to your skin. And if you’re looking for relief it’s ok to think a bit outside of the box, especially when the products you’re using are non-toxic, plant-based, and gentle to begin with. You might be surprised how many uses a product has or how many harsh chemicals you can remove from your beauty regimen and medicine cabinet.
P.s. if you have any other home or natural remedies for itchiness, let us know. And if you’ve figured out how to keep yourself from scratching in your sleep, I’m nominating you for a Nobel Peace Prize.
]]>Chances are, while you’re in the hospital, you’re not going to have to do much baby washing. Once you do finally get mama + baby back home, things really are surprisingly simple. Sleep schedules might change a bit. There will be more crying and nudity, but dad’s job is mainly support while momma heals and you get your routines set.
One of my first memories is being bathed in the kitchen sink. Seems funny now, but there are a number of reasons it makes a good choice. You can wash the sink well beforehand and it’s easier than scrubbing a bathtub. The sink isn’t too deep or wide so it’s easier to manage the little one and keep them safe. It also allows you to have stable footing while you attend to all of the crevices. They have all kinds of little tubs now just for bathing your newborn and some of them are pretty cool. Looking back, I’d skip the tub. It’s just one more thing, cluttering up your house and you won’t even use it for that long.
For the first month or so they probably only need a few baths a week. If their belly button or circumcision is still healing, wait to set them in water and start with spot cleaning. Otherwise, just use warm water and a damp cloth. Get that baby a little wet, wipe it gently, move to the next spot. Keep their head dry for the most part. You can find more tips and info here for those first baths. If you’re present, you don’t make the water too hot or cold, you do a good, gentle job getting them clean, and get them back to mama safe, you’re golden. High five!
Slowly but surely over the next 6 months they will get more active. They’ll start reaching for things, holding their own head up, and then rolling around. As they find ways to get dirtier, you’ll have to add some soap to the mix. Don’t use yours! That little one is going to need something gentle for a while. Steer clear of anything with fragrances, parabens, phthalates, or sulfates. We have a baby wash that’s plant-based, non-toxic, and special formulated to be gentle on newborn skin.
If I could give any other advice it would be to be present. Help mama. Go the extra mile. Bathing is one good way, but you should get skin-to-skin time with that baby. It will do you both some good and give mom a break. After a month or two, throw on some swim trunks and totally try a shower. Their reaction to the falling water is adorable. Have a hand towel handy though. Not every baby likes splashing water on their face.
That’s it. Not too complicated. If you’re reading this, chances are you’re going to be a great dad. Be careful, but don’t let folks make you scared, especially not of your own baby. You got this!
Got any dad tips for us? Bring it on! Let’s keep the conversation rolling. Hit us up in the comments or on our social media pages.

What an honor and a privilege it has been to Spread Goodness with all of you!
For us, the Season of Goodness was borne out of necessity. We had to do something, however small, to counter the negative energy that was building around the country and around the world. It’s been a painful and uncertain time, but amongst the fear and strain there have been daily acts of goodness and heroism. We knew we had to help these heroes, shine a light on their unsung courage, and that we were going to need help if we were going to expand our reach and do the most good.
We weren’t surprised to see all of you jumping on board immediately and Spreading Goodness too! From the stories you all shared, to donating your own prizes in some cases, to our partners asking if they could help spread the word and make a nomination too, we were overwhelmed by the response, quite literally.
Thankfully we got ourselves organized and the giving, and sharing, and goodness was amazing. Looking back over the campaign it’s hard to believe how much we were able to do in such a short amount of time. It was a lot of work for our crew, but the rewards far outweighed the efforts.
We donated over 10,000 units of hand sanitizer to philanthropic organizations across the country! Almost 750 of those were gallon jugs. Other notable donations include over 400 plant-based toothpastes and almost 350 natural deodorants. We gave away more than 400 skin care salves, and nearly 350 lip balms, in addition to other soaps and personal care essentials. All together we were able to give over $100,000 worth of much needed products during the Season of Goodness with the lion's share of those donations going to people on the front lines of the fight against Covid-19.
We’ve included a list of the incredible organizations we were fortunate enough to meet and help out, thanks to all of you. If you’re in a place where you can make a donation and spread more goodness, this is an outstanding place to start.

]]>However, tons of baby soaps are made with synthetic chemicals or other potentially harmful products these days, including parabens, which are known to be carcinogenic. Even soaps that don’t use those ingredients might be made with animal fats, which can be discomforting to use for vegans and which might not agree with an infant’s skin, especially if they’re allergic or have skin sensitivity.
Here at Green Goo, we’re dedicated to taking the power of plants and using their nourishing properties to make the best all natural self care salves, soaps, washes, and more, and among all of those plant-based formulas, is our Unscented Castile Soap Baby Wash.
If you’ve used any of our other all-natural castile soaps, you’ll notice the similarities. Our Baby Wash is made of nourishing plant-based ingredients, so it’s nontoxic to the skin. This baby wash has a few other notable benefits that make it a perfect option for your little one and their sensitive skin.
In a nutshell, this soap is:
All told, it’s a cleansing, gentle soap that’s perfect for washing the sensitive and easily irritated skin of any infant.
But like other castile soaps, it can also pull double duty as a hand soap, stain remover, laundry detergent, bath soap, and even a pet shampoo! There’s no limit to what you can use this all-natural baby wash for!
Let’s back up for a moment. What if you don’t know what a castile soap is, and why you should use one at all, let alone for one of the most precious things you’ve ever seen?
A castile soap is merely an all-natural soap made with plant oils instead of animal fat. This provides it with the same cleaning properties as traditional soap products, but without the artificiality or harshness of standard cleaning chemicals.
For example, animal fat-based soaps or soaps with chemical ingredients can be too intense for the skin, meaning you can only use them in specific contexts, such as never using a laundry detergent to wash your hands. Furthermore, such soaps are generally really toxic if you throw them out on your lawn or on plants, and they can be deadly if ingested by accident (a real hazard with babies and pets in the household).
Castile soaps don’t have these dangers. They’re made with all-natural ingredients and are totally eco-friendly, meaning that it doesn’t matter if you throw some castile water into the grass after giving your pup a bath. On that note, it’s a great pet shampoo because your pet can ingest a little bit when they go to lick their coat (as they’re bound to do) and won’t face the same risks as they may face ingesting shampoos or washes with artificial chemicals.
All in all, castile soap is an excellent alternative to other soaps, for more than one reason!
Castile soap works exactly the same as other soap products. Basically, the soap molecules (again, derived from natural plant oils instead of animal fat) have one side of their molecular structure that repels water, while the other side attracts it. The resulting chain reaction means that any non-water-soluble dirt, grime, or other debris attach to the soap molecules and are easily rinsed away with warm water.
As a result, castile soaps are no less effective compared to other soap varieties. You can rest assured that our Baby Wash Castile Soap will clean your little one just as effectively as any other baby soap, without the risks of irritating your baby’s skin or causing a panic if they accidentally ingest some.
Why should you make the switch to our Castile Soap Baby Wash? Here’s a handful of reasons:
While castile soap in general doesn’t come with the same risk for side effects as other soap products, this isn’t to say that side effects are impossible. Some people do happen to be allergic to plant oils, although this is quite rare. If your baby has sensitive skin, doing a patch test can help make sure they won’t have a negative reaction to the plant-based soap.
And while you can use castile soap without having to worry about your dog or baby getting sick from ingesting a little, you should still make sure they don’t ingest a lot of it.
Beyond those mild warnings, you generally don’t have to worry about side effects or negative reactions. Castile soap is widely used and appreciated for its safety!
They’re similar, but the Baby Wash features a few extra ingredients that put an emphasis on soothing sensations and baby-friendliness, such as aloe vera. You can, in theory, use any of our other castile soaps on your little one as well, but the baby wash is the best of the best in terms of ingredient composition and really being made for your baby’s delicate skin in particular.
Additionally, unlike most of our other castile soaps, this soap also doesn’t have any added essential oil blends for fragrance--it’s scent-free aside from the natural plant smell that results from having a plant-based formula.
The fact is that you can’t know what your baby will be allergic to until you try different things. But from others that want to be as safe as possible, it’s better to err on the side of caution and use all-natural soaps and other products because all-natural ingredients are less likely to cause an allergic reaction or even general irritation compared to chemicals synthesized in a lab.
Furthermore, all-natural products often feel and smell better for babies. Think of the industrial smell that surrounds many modern cleaning products. While most baby washes and soaps use supposedly baby-friendly fragrances (many of which are artificially formulated), these perfumes can be overwhelming for your baby and can cause skin irritation.
It's totally natural to only want the best for your baby, and we're dedicated to providing you the tools you need to make that goal a reality. Our all-natural, plant-based castile soap is specially formulated for use with infants and young children, and we sincerely hope you'll give it a try.
If you’re looking for other plant-based care products for you and your baby, check out our Mama and Baby line, which includes a soothing all-natural lotion for the baby, and a salve specially formulated for nursing mothers.

]]>I have been adding them, you should def be seeing them, i can get names if need be. i have also been doing content that is not in notion, i have started making tasks for them this morning
But unfortunately, lots of commercial or “regular” toothpaste tubes are chock-full of synthetic chemicals and lab-made ingredients. While these are great for freshening your breath, they're far from the best when it comes to oral hygiene. In the worst cases, they can even cause enamel problems or lead to health risks later down the road from repeatedly ingesting just a little bit everyday.
Fortunately, more and more people are making the switch to natural toothpaste. These toothpastes can still help you fight off bad breath and bacteria but don’t carry the same risk for long term side effects like fluorosis. Let’s take a look at one of the best natural and organic toothpastes you ought to try this year.
Let's be frank – your mouth is pretty good at breaking down anything you put inside it, including toothpaste. While this is great for your digestion, it unfortunately means that many commercial toothpastes, which are often loaded with synthetic chemicals and non-organic ingredients, are broken down in your body over time This may negatively affect your teeth, gums, and tongue, and those chemicals may even make their way through your GI tract if you accidentally swallow some (which we’ve all truthfully done more than once).
While toothpaste products are never designed to be harmful, they’re often over-designed in general. Lots of artificial flavors or unnecessary preservatives may be added, and some toothpaste products contain parabens: synthetic chemicals designed to increase the shelf life of various products that have been linked to certain cancers.
Do all the synthetic ingredients in many commercial toothpastes actually help your teeth stay healthier? Not really. In a lot of cases, it’s just what people are used to.
On top of that, lots of synthetic or commercial toothpastes are packed full of fluoride. While fluoride can be beneficial for your teeth, you can get fluoride from other sources already, such as drinking water if you live in a city or suburb. Ingesting too much fluoride over time can lead to fluorosis.
Some of the other potentially harmful ingredients found in regular toothpaste include:
In contrast, natural toothpaste products can still do a phenomenal job of cleaning your teeth, freshening your breath, and leaving you with a white smile without using a bunch of unnecessary ingredients.
The truth is that there’s a natural or botanical alternative to practically every toothpaste ingredient. Thus, natural toothpaste products are a perfect choice for folks who don’t want to go overboard with fluoride or who don’t want to put a bunch of synthetic paste in their mouth or their kids’; especially since kids are much more prone to accidentally swallow toothpaste and other oral hygiene products.
The science is actually undecided on this point. You can find some evidence that fluoride is fantastic for helping to repair your teeth from daily damage and limiting enamel destruction. However, there's also some evidence that fluoride can be harmful to your teeth or cause other side effects throughout the body if consumed in too great a quantity, like fluorosis.
Toothpaste is designed to clean your teeth and gums, so it’s most important that toothpaste has the ingredients to do this, but aside from that, a lot of standard ingredients like the ones we mentioned earlier don’t play a needed role. Everything else is just a bonus; remember, your toothbrush is more responsible for physically removing plaque and debris from your teeth and over your gums than the toothpaste itself.
In this way, fluoride can be beneficial but is not strictly necessary in a great toothpaste.
Compared to their commercial counterparts, natural and organic toothpastes have a lot to offer. Even better, they don't come with the same risks outlined above. Here are just a few reasons why you might give one of these toothpastes a try:
So, without further delay, one of the best natural and organic toothpastes we recommend is our very own Peppermint Toothpaste. It’s an all-natural toothpaste that can soothe your gums and freshen your breath without any of the unnecessary and often artificial ingredients described above.
We don’t use saccharin or other artificial sweeteners, either – instead, to achieve the classic peppermint taste, we use natural peppermint oil mixed with stevia, and nothing more.
Here they are along with what they do:
What’s this? Soap for toothpaste? It sounds strange, but hear us out!
The truth is that castile soap works quite well as a toothpaste alternative if you run out of your trusty Green Goo Peppermint Toothpaste.
Castile soap is renowned as an excellent natural cleaning solution and it’s not toxic if accidentally consumed in small quantities, meaning you aren’t running the risk of poisoning yourself by using castile soap as a toothpaste for the short term, even if you ingest just a little bit by accident.
Any of our castile soaps can work well as a toothpaste alternative. Our Unscented Soap is basic and effective, but our other soaps come with fragrances.
Do note, however, that castile soap doesn’t exactly taste great, especially compared to our Peppermint Toothpaste. So, we wouldn’t recommend using castile soap as a regular toothpaste – think of it more as a backup option in a pinch when you can’t go to the store and discover you are out of toothpaste right before bed.
All in all, natural and organic toothpastes are perfect picks for kids and for anyone tired of putting synthetic chemicals in their mouths. Understanding dental health and the best oral hygiene practices takes time and effort, but the most important thing is to brush twice a day for at least two minutes, and to know what ingredients are in your self care products and why.
It’s never too late to make the switch! Give our Peppermint Toothpaste a try, and don’t hesitate to use one of our castile soaps as a backup. If you’re really looking to make the move toward a more all natural care routine, you can check out our Plant-Based Self Care Products here! Happy scrubbing!

]]>In fact, some of our botanical salves wouldn’t work without chickweed! Take our Tattoo Care Salve, for example. Without chickweed, this phenomenal, all-natural solution for soothing swelling and protecting freshly inked skin would be far less effective.
Don’t know what chickweed is or how you can use it for your own skin treatments? Let’s take a deeper look at chickweed and explore exactly what makes it such an ideal botanical ingredient for many of our best salves.
Also called Stellaria media, satin flower, starweed, and mouse-ear, chickweed is one of the most common flowering plants in the carnation family. It’s pretty easy to spot once you know what you’re looking for, characterized by a hairy stem, small and star-shaped white flowers, and a relatively low height.
You can find chickweed mostly in Europe and North America, and it’s been used for all kinds of folk remedies and culinary dishes for centuries. Chances are you can find it in your yard or in your garden during the spring and summer.
Both traditionally and today, people harvest the chickweed leaves once the plant is mature. Once you grind up the leaves or otherwise extract the vitamins and oils within, you can then mix those key compounds with other ingredients to create nourishing topical salves, or you can even crush the leaves and make them into tea!
If you see chickweed in your garden or on your property, you can harvest the leaves to reap some natural benefits. You don’t need to worry too much about the roots, as these are usually left behind since they don’t provide the same benefits.
You can, in a pinch, also harvest and apply the whole chickweed plant directly to your skin to help soothe and serve as a skin protectant (though the effect you’ll get is far from the same as a finished salve made with multiple skin-protecting ingredients).
Alternatively, you can also make a chickweed-infused oil. This can either be rubbed on your skin or added to a bath. To do this, follow these instructions:
This topical solution is a great home remedy for mild skin irritation and allergies. However, if that all sounds like a lot of work, don’t forget that we’ve done all that work for you and you can enjoy the skin-protecting benefits of chickweed from a variety of our salves including our First Aid Salve, Foot Care Salve, Hand Goo, and much more!
Speaking of benefits, chickweed provides so many that it’s a wonder more people don’t use it for their own homemade herbal remedies! Truth be told, chickweed contains tons of helpful compounds, including flavonoids, vitamin C, tocopherols, and more.
Here are all the ways chickweed can benefit your life depending on how you use it.
In a nutshell, chickweed might be able to help you with weight loss and digestion (in combination with a healthy diet and exercise) since consuming the leaves in small quantities results in delayed absorption of carbs and dietary fats. Basically, people can still eat enough that they feel full, but their body won’t digest everything too quickly and end up storing the extra energy from a large meal as fat.
This isn’t to say that chickweed allows you to eat whatever you want with impunity. But it can be a great thing to put in your tea if you want a little extra help when you don’t follow your diet strictly.
Chickweed is also very effective for soothing. When you apply whole chickweed leaves, crushed up and mixed into a paste to swollen areas, you can enjoy some mild soothing and calming effects on your skin.
Perhaps the most interesting and potent effect chickweed brings to the table is increased healing, plus a certain level of rejuvenating protection. In fact, people have known about chickweed’s ability to help wounds heal properly for generations, especially in Chinese medicine.
Chickwee’s ability to protect and nourish the skin gives your body an easier time naturally healing surface wounds, cuts, and scrapes. Furthermore, some of the nutrients in chickweed, like vitamin C, support skin health overall.
That’s why a lot of our salves contain chickweed as a primary ingredient, especially when it comes to nourishing dry, cracked hands and feet.
Green Goo’s Tattoo Care Salve is a targeted, all-natural product designed to support the body’s natural healing process and protect sensitive and irritated skin after getting inked. It’s mixed with all kinds of helpful botanicals like calendula and plantain, that help to moisturize and soothe irritated skin.
Another main ingredient in the salve is chickweed. As you can see from the information above, chickweed is a great plant for skin protection and nourishment, which is exactly the role it plays in our Tattoo Care Salve.
Specifically, chickweed helps the salve to form a protective layer over the surface of a new tattoo – after all, a new tattoo is essentially an open wound. By doing so, it prevents debris from reaching down to the dermis. It also seals in moisture and stops your skin from becoming too dry and flaky.
All of this helps your tattoo to heal as it should!
Not normally. However, if you consume too much chickweed, you might get nausea, diarrhea, and similar GI discomforts. But this will normally only occur if you don’t crush up the chickweed leaves into small enough pieces when making tea, or if you try to eat the leaves whole.
Notably, for our topical salves that use this ingredient, the chickweed leaves are dried and infused with natural oils like olive and sunflower. For topical applications like this, you shouldn’t need to worry about any side effects or negative outcomes since you aren’t ingesting the chickweed.
On rare occasions, some people may have an allergic reaction when chickweed is applied directly to the skin. However, this is true for any botanical ingredient. As with all salves and topical treatments, it’s wise to dab a little bit onto your skin and do a patch test before regular use to make sure that you aren’t part of the small portion of individuals allergic to chickweed .
Ultimately, chickweed is one of the most valuable and versatile botanical ingredients you can find. It’s certainly one of our favorites, and we use it for quite a few of our salves. All of these formulas use chickweed for the same purpose: to protect your skin and help soothe your skin.
So, whether you’re looking to make sure that brand new tattoo heals like it should, or if your feet are dry and cracked and need a little nourishing protection, chickweed is definitely a botanical you’ll be happy to have as an ingredient in your salve of choice!
